Julian Rocks is world famous for its marine life. Warm and cold water currents meet here resulting in a spectacular mix of tropical and cold water fish creating one of the most abundant fish dives in the world. On most of our dives, we see big sharks and rays, large schools of pelagics, turtles as well as nudibranchs and a lot of smaller marine life. Dive once, dive twice, or dive three times in one day – it’s up to you – we’re not restricted by lengthy travel times, although local laws do restrict the number of launches per day, so book early.

In fact, it is home to over 1000 marine species thanks to the convergence of warm and cool waters resulting in this enormous biodiversity. Whilst most species are found over a wide area of the Asia-Pacific region, a minority are endemic to this area creating a truly unique underwater experience. The best diving in Byron Bay is at the Julian Rocks themselves, with a good variety of dive sites available. Other sites include Spot X and the Mackerel Boulder, locations that we occasionally visit in ideal conditions, and the Cape Pinnacle is.
